From Cost to Value: Shifting the Paradigm

Now in its 13th year, IPD’s Occupier’s conference has established itself as the UK’s leading event for property occupiers, their advisors and suppliers. The event aims to develop further understanding of how effective real estate performance management can be used to improve business performance. This will be done by drawing evidence, techniques, and knowledge from within and outside of the corporate real estate industry.

This year we look at the shift from Cost to Value. Optimizing costs is a given for Corporate Real Estate and FM managers. We have the tools and techniques in place. Time to move on. The worth of CRE and FM managers should increasingly be measured in terms of the value they add to the business. How do CRE and FM managers define value in the context of the business and develop operating models to deliver better business outcomes in an increasingly unpredictable world?
