IPD began its work in Asia when it opened an office in Tokyo in 2003. IPD provides a range of information services to investors in Japan.  Our core services are for direct investors in real estate. These involve the independent certification of investment performance and a confidential portfolio benchmarking report. We analyse their assets and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of their portfolio strategy compared with the wider market. We are supported in this by some of Japan’s leading institutional investors.

In addition to its Annual Index and Market Digest, IPD publishes a Monthly Index, which uses asset-level data from the Japanese REITs to highlight the most trends in the real estate sector.  This has started to be used as the basis for trades in the new market in property derivatives.  The Monthly Indicator is supported by a comprehensive spreadsheet of detailed background information, which is updated monthly and available on subscription. 

IPD Japan has also launched a group of products for investors in J-REITs and J-REIT fund managers, including a regularly updated J-REIT Digest, showing our estimate of their real estate performance and implied rankings, and reports on individual J-REITs, containing a critical analysis of their investment strategy and details of individual asset performance.
